Adesua Etomi is Africa’s new official baby girl, coming from an invigorating win in this years AMVCA Awards in the prestigious Best Actress category, the 30-year-old actress absolutely dazzled as she gushed out her acceptance speech. The speech struck a lot of resounding cords among many of her fans who have quoted parts of it as their reason for having a renewed passion to chase their dreams.
It only makes sense that we open up this woman to a few who may still be unknowing but curious. Adesua is a performing artiste as well as an actress. She studied Physical theater, Musical theater and Performing arts in City College, Coventry, United Kingdom. She is also a graduate of Drama and Performance at the University of Wolverhampton. In both academic forays she excelled greatly graduating with triple distinctions at the college and First Class Honors at the University. She also left with The Foresight Theater award which was presented to her by the University for best performance in a devised piece of theater.
She returned back to Nigeria in 2012 and started performing in several stage plays some of which included; The Secret Lives Of Baba Segi’s Wives, Saro, Shattered, The Grimm Tales, Anatomy Of A Woman, Crystal Slipper, London Life, Lagos Living and a host of others. She made her screen debut in 2014 with the movie Knocking On Heavens Door which was a Royal Arts Academy production. She was immediately shot into the spotlight as she delivered a stellar performance in the character of Debbie; a popular gospel singer with a personal struggle of domestic violence dished out by her not as popular gospel singer husband.
Every other film from that moment has literally added to a growing widely held public adoration between Adesua and her fans. They seem eager to watch her in everything; from short film, Brave, stints on TV shows, GidiUp and Shuga and other films like Falling and Couple Of Days. She on the other hand, always seems eager to deliver her very best to them. She has a strong online presence on Instagram @adesuaetomi where she regularly engages her fans.
