Bob Marley’s Children and Family Details

It was on February 6, 1945, that Marley was born as Robert Nesta Marley in Jamaica. The man was born by a white father from England, Norval Sinclair Marley, and a black Jamaican mother, Cedella Booker. Birthed on a farm, the boy who would grow to be a reggae star was mostly raised by his mother as his father was always away and he later died of a heart attack when his son was only 10 years old.

In an attempt to be educated, Bob attended Stepney Primary and later Junior High School. Even so, he was more into music than pursuing education.

He began his musical career with the defunct Wailers and later went solo and relocated to the United Kingdom. His 1977 Exodus album brought him to the limelight. With over 75 million records sold, he undoubtedly became a formidable force in the global music industry.

How Bob Marley Died

Like most other legends, you will always find different stories about how this Marley died. One of the popular stories about how he lost his life at the prime age of 36 is that he injured himself during a football and that it was what increased and later led to his death.

However, the devoted Rastafarian who loves playing football died from a form of skin cancer known as acral lentiginous melanoma. This was first detected on his toe and soon it spread to other parts of his body. When the cancer was detected on his leg, the advice was that he should have the toe amputated but he refused because according to the Rastafarian religion, it is a sin for one to dismember any part of one’s temple (body).

It was this that continued to spread, leading to his death. Before then, he made his last performance in Pittsburgh in September 1980, before he collapsed while jogging. He was then flown to Germany where he had a very controversial diet based treatment under the care of Josef Issels but it only got worse and because of this, he was flown to Miami on May 11, 198, for treatment, but he died on arrival at the Cedars Of Lebanon Hospital.

Since his death, there have been many conspiracy theories believing that the man was actually killed by the CIA. In fact, in 2017, a news emerged that a former CIA agent has come forward to confess to the alleged misdeed. As you will expect, however, it all turns out to be false.

10. Don’t gain the world and lose your soul, wisdom is better than silver or gold.

11. Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you riding through the ruts, don’t complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief, and jealousy. Don’t bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!

13. Better to die fighting for freedom than be a prisoner all the days of your life

14. Some people feel the rain; others just get wet.
