Dubai is ready to present the new world’s tallest tower.
Currently Dubai is home to Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. Now the country and tourist delight wants to erect even a taller tower than Burj Khalifa.
There are speculations that the construction of the new building is still in the light of making Dubai a world wonder.
The construction of the building has already begun. It officially began on Monday and will be completed in the year of 2020.
Construction workers are currently laying foundations for the skyscraper at a vast patch of sand. The proposed new world’s tallest tower will be fastened to the ground with sturdy cables.
Dubai is one of the most prominent UAE member states. It is home to an impressive number of exotic skyscrapers and structures.
Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed al-Maktoum, the Gulf emirate’s ruler, has really invested a lot in developing the region. He obviously still intends to do more.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al-Maktoum has marked the groundbreaking of The Tower at Dubai Creek Harbour. The tower which was designed by Spanish-Swiss architect Santiago Calatrava Valls will be about 828 metres (2,700 feet) high.
The construction of the viewing tower will be taken care of by Dubai’s developer giant Emaar Properties. The tower, according to the developers will have observation decks; providing 360-degree views of the coastal city.
It will also have a rooftop courtyard and a hotel.
Mohamed Alabbar, Emaar Chairman, says that the idea is to complete the building before the Expo 2020 trade fair which Dubai is preparing to host.
The anticipated exotic structure and new world’s tallest tower, which will be as slender shaped as a minaret will cost an estimated sum of $1 billion (€900 million).
Other reports also confirm that by 2020, Burj Khalifa will no longer be the tallest building in the world. Saudi Arabia’s Kingdom tower in Jeddah will the world’s tallest by then. It is said to be 1km higher than Burj Khalifa.
