For ages now the 007 action packed movies have entertained the world. The James Bond character is logically played by male actors.
Recently with the speculated retirement of Daniel Craig from the 007 contract, Hollywood A-list actress Gillian Anderson appears to be indicating an interest in the role.
From the buzz on social media, it might actually be worth the try if we have the first ever James… sorry, ‘Jane’ Bond.
Gillian is not the only prospective actor to play the role come 2017. Some others on a wild guess either seriously or for fun are considered by 007 fans. In that unofficial list, are stars like Tom Hiddleston, Damian Lewis and Idris Elba
“The position isn’t vacant as far as I’m aware. No one has talked to me about it. I think the rumors have come about because in the Night Manager I play a spy and people have made the link.” – Hiddleston
“I’m probably the most famous Bond actor in the world, and I’ve not even played the role. Enough is enough. I can’t talk about it any more.”– Idris Elba
The current James Bond in the person of Daniel Craig has reportedly turned down the offer to go on with 2 more 007 films which would have earned him about £60 million. However, the actor has not arrived at a conclusive decision. Already Craig has made 4 successful outings with the 007 franchise.
“It’s Bond, Jane Bond.”
With the uncertainty of who the next bond will be, Gillian Anderson tweeted a poster of herself with the hashtag #NextBond. By her comments she also clearly indicated that she would love to play the role as the first female 007 character ever.
Gillian Anderson is famous for her long time role in X-Files. She plays the role of an FBI Special agent in the sci-fi drama.
