Planning a vacation can be stressful and tricky. While there are apps that aim to reduce the hassle, the numerous options can be in fact overwhelming.
There’s a new life hack that helps plan a vacation without worrying incessantly and downloading apps that may not meet your expectations. It’s called Destinations– and we have Google to thank for it.
Google always seems to be on the look out for us, coming up with new ideas and inventions that make life easier, from the conventional use of the search bar, to conversions and translations, even fun hacks like being able to play Pacman without downloading apps in 2016.
Destinations was launched on Wednesday, 9th March. It targets travel plans, making it easier on mobiles. This came about when Google realized a “50 percent increase in travel-related questions on mobile phones”. It might seem like nothing new, considering anyone could type ‘Honeymoon in Zanzibar’ in Google’s search bar and still get travel information and hotel booking details in Zanzibar.
However, Google’s Destinations is quite different. Rather than just pop up numerous travel options, it aims to simplify it by providing all the details a traveler might want about a specific destination without opening a million tabs.
“Google sorts through billions of flight and hotel options so you don’t have to,” the company said. “See average flights and hotel prices at a glance across many cities; tap into a destination and get the best options for your needs and budget.”
Destinations doesn’t just provide basic information about a destination, it also provides really helpful, detailed ideas and tips. Besides flight and accommodation fees for a particular time span, included are the best time to visit said destination, best routes to go from place to place. Vacation information can also be tailored based on your interests, hobbies, affordable deals, preferable weather conditions, and so on.
