The 4th edition of Konamii, a football match championed by the Change Africa Foundation is set to take place in Lagos, Nigeria on 30th July.
Konamii 2016 will be hosted at the Campos mini stadium, Lagos Island. The founder of Change Africa Foundation, Olamide Olabisi enthusiastically stated that this year’s edition will be much better than past years’.
He also added that it will be more elaborate as the number of orphanages which will benefit from the game have increased from 4 to 6. There will be new additions as well– side attractions as he calls it.
“We have three side attractions for these (sic) year’s edition namely, charity, entertainment and football. Games would be set aside for top celebrities and entertainers to compete in with the sole aim of raising funds to help provide the basic needs of these children so that they can enjoy a normal life like every other kid in the society.
Last year we had Lil Kesh perform and that drew a lot of people to the games we hope to achieve more turn out this year by inviting more celebrities in the music and movie industry,” he said.
Some popular persons to be expected at Konamii 2016 include; YC, Adekunle Gold, Dorcas Shola Fapson, Ehiz and L.A.X
There will be three matches; Social Leaders VS Team Konamii, Ruby VS Platinum (women), MTV Base VS All Stars (celebrities). There will also be fun and games for the children present.
Olamide also appealed to the public to support the organization’s agenda to eradicate poverty in Nigeria by showing support.
Konamii was created with the aim of helping the less privileged. The games are aimed at raising funds for orphanages which are now six in number.
