Nigeria’s president Muhammadu Buhari has released a statement over Nigeria’s economic downturn, stating that it will soon be over and “Nigeria will be great again”.
On Tuesday the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria urged his citizens that the recession will soon be over.
The statement was made during an APC rally in Edo state in the southern region of Nigeria. There, he tried to persuade Edo state citizens to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Godwin Obaseki, at the forthcoming gubernatorial election.
“We are a nation of great human and material resources especially the youth. Please sit down and reflect and remember what I said 30 years ago. We have no other nation like Nigeria, no matter where you go. We may as well remain and salvage it together,
“I congratulate Mr. Obaseki a seasoned person, I assure you and I recommend him to you so that you will continue to grow. You have got an incredible team and better hold tight and make sure they succeeded.”
He concluded his statement by urging Nigerians to be patient because “Nigeria will be great again.”
“I assure you we are going to get out of this our economic doldrums and we are almost out of our insecurity problems and we are going to make Nigeria great again. We are going to be very proud of our country and our size and our and resources will not be for nothing,” he said.
Other notable politicians were present at the rally. Some of them included; the governors of Sokoto, Kogi, Kebbi, Niger, Kaduna, Plateau, Benue, Ogun, Kano, Katsina states, Ministers of state Petroleum, Dr Ibe Kachukwu, Minister of State Health, Dr Osagie Ehanire, Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola, Minister of Science and Technology, Dr Ogbonnaya Onu, among others.
