This is the second time football would have Pele in Nigeria. His first visit was in 1969, during an Africa tour by his football club, Santos where the Brazilian side played against the Nigerian national team, as well as the football team of the Midwest (Benin).

This visit is alleged to have caused a two-day cease-fire by the warring Biafra and Nigeria in order to watch the legend play.

The project director of WJS, Chidima Okebalama adds that Pele will visit Ghana after the two-day youth tournament ends in Lagos, Nigeria.

Pele is known for the legendary achievements made in his football career. Some of which include; three-time World Cup winner with Brazil, scoring 1,281 goals in his professional career, being named Athlete of the Century by the International Olympic Committee and FIFA.
