It was a bitter-sweet moment when bedridden and unconscious Ryan Jessen got a farewell from his beloved dog.
33-year old Ryan Jessen assumed he had a migraine but hospital found that the young man was suffering from a ventricular brain hemorrhage.
He was hospitalized at a stage when there was no more hope for his recovery.
While the family got the chance to say goodbye to their unconscious family member, they saved a moment for Ryan’s dog. The hospital authorities accepted their plan to bring the dog and they did as Ryan would have loved to have his dog at that moment if he were well enough.
The intuitive dog, Mollie, in its own emotional way, sniffed all over its owner’s body, visibly broken that he could not feel her. This made Ryan’s hospital room super-charged with emotions.
Ryan’s sister took to social media to share the sorrowful moment.
“The hospital did the sweetest thing for us and allowed us to bring my brother’s dog in to ‘say goodbye’ so she’d know why her human never came home.
“If you knew my brother, he really loved his sweet dog.”
The video of the goodbye moment pierced the heart of internet users, generating an over 10 million views since December 1.
In her post Ryan’s sister, Michelle, thanked Facebook users who commiserated with them and said the dog will be taken care of.
“We are sincerely touched and humbled by others’ stories, their sharing in our sadness and the kindness of so many people,”
“Don’t worry about the dog! We’re keeping her!!! She’s part of the family.”

Till death, Mollie showed solidarity to his owner. With no words or touch from Ryan on that hospital bed, Mollie’s presence at that moment meant more than words could say.
