China Sets Out To Launch A Chemical University In Nigeria


Courtesy of SUCT-Shenyang University of Chemical Technology- China, Nigeria is set to launch its first ever Chemical University.

The announcement was made by the director of the institution, Mr Yang Bo. The location for the Chemical University is in Kano, Northwest region of Nigeria.

The proposed first Nigerian Chemical university will deepen the ties between Nigeria and China. Bilateral agreements will be signed to ensure understanding between the 2 schools in China and Nigeria.

Shenyang University of Chemical Technology (SUCT) says it is willing to work with the business community to make the Nigerian affiliate a reality.

We want to start students exchange programme with Nigerian government universities such as Bayero University Kano (BUK), Kano University of Science and Technology Wudil and Federal College of Education Technical (FCE Bichi) all in Kano.”

Having an extension of Shenyang University of Chemical Technology in Nigeria will also bring quality education nearer to tons of Nigerians who leave the country to study oversees.

SUCT in Nigeria is an addition to the growing list of educational partnerships between Nigeria and foreign countries. Shenyang University of Chemical Technology will be another Nigerian based international university like ABTI American University, Yola and Covenant University, Ota, Ogun state.

SUCT is an institute with a major specialization in sciences, engineering, economy, then, in management and arts. It was established in 1952 as a technical school. In time it became a college and later revolved into a University.

SUCT has enjoyed friendly international relations with over 20 universities and scientific research institutes all over the world. Their affiliations are present in some countries like Japan, Britain, Russia and  America. Nigeria is one step away from from being in the list.
