Top 10 Africa FIFA Ranking For July


The FIFA ranking for July has been published and these are the Top 10 African football teams in the world ranking.

The FIFA team ranking is published monthly. It shows the improvements made by different football teams in a month.

The FIFA ranking for July sees Argentina remain top with a total point of 1585.

Prominent African team, Nigeria’s Super Eagles failed to make the top 10 cut, having gone down by nine places.

Some other African teams made giant improvements despite not making the Top 10 list. Among them are Kenya (43 places up), Guinea-Bissau (40 places up), Liberia (31 places up), Libya (29 places up), among others.

10. Mali

The Eagles of Mali made their entry into the FIFA Africa Top 10 with a two place upward move into the 61st position.

9. DR Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo goes down seven places to be 59th on the global rank with a total point of 555.

8. Morocco

The Atlas Lions of Morocco made a giant 8 place move to re-enter the Africa Top 10 list as well as being 54th overall.

7. Cameroon

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon moved up five ranks to secure a spot at the 53rd, thereby replacing Cape Verde as Africa’s Top 7th.

6. Tunisia

The Eagles move up two ranks to secure the 45th position, despite having been inconsistent in previous months.

5. Egypt

The Pharaohs of Egypt continue to improve with this two place upward move that sees them securing the 43rd position in the world ranking.

4. Senegal

The Senegalese team remains stagnant, ranking 41st since June. The Teranga Lions got a total point of 651.

3. Ghana

The Ghanaian team ranks 36th, just a spot behind the African champions, Cote D’Ivoire. The Black stars moved up one point from last month.

2. Cote D’Ivoire

Les Éléphantes are 35th on the world list, just two points below Algeria. The Ivorians seem to be catching up to the Algerians after going up from being 34th last month. They had previously occupied the top African spot, before relinquishing it to the Algerians at the beginning of the year.

1. Algeria

First place is the Northern African team which ranks 32nd on the global list. The Fennec Foxes have been the top African country since April.
