Wizkid is undoubtedly getting more international coverage and his new single shabba which features Chris Brown, is a testament to that fact.
Although his stage appearances within the borders of Africa may leave a lot to be desired, considering news of missed performances in home country Nigeria and Zimbabwe, the Nigerian singer is expanding his worldwide reach.
This year, he featured in a new single by US-based artist Drake. The song, ‘One Dance’ steadily made its way up the charts, showing up on the Billboard Hot 100 and Twitter trending 140 Charts before finally hitting the number one spot on the iTunes World Chart and maintaining that top spot for a good number of weeks.
He has been featured by a prestigious American artist, so it is not too surprising that the Nigerian star is set to feature an American artist in his own song.
It has been a highly anticipated pairing and the possibility started gaining traction from the time photos of the two stars (Wizkid and Chris Brown) showed up online a few years ago.

From that time, the two seem to have maintained a relationship and Wizkid was included in the line-up of performers at a recent Chris Brown tour.
The Nigerian singer announced on Wednesday 30 June that the song is titled ‘Shabba’, and also features Chris Brown’s R&B colleague Trey Songz. As with some of his other announcements, this was made known via his Twitter handle. His tweet read:
“Official version of my record “Shabba” ft Chris brown and Trey Songz drops tonight! #Starboyworldwide!”
A version of the song was initially tweeted by the singer. The track which you can listen to above, reminds fans of the typical Wizkid boastful lifestyle and romantic conquests, and some fans have said that Breezy sounds very much like the Starboy on the track.
