Why 2PM Disbanded
2PM has not disbanded but are currently on a hiatus. Any disbandment rumours may have been fuelled by the fact that only five members namely, Jun K, Nichkhun, Wooyoung, Junho and Chansung, renewed their contracts with JYP Entertainment in January 2018. Taecyeon opted not to renew his contract but instead signed an exclusive contract with 51K in June 2018. This, however, does not imply that the band is disbanding as Taecyeon has clarified that he remains a devoted 2PM member, and will participate in all future activities. Meanwhile, 2PM dropped their album, Gentlemen’s Game, in September 2017. The band is now on a hiatus as three of its members, Taecyeon, Jun K, and Wooyoung, are undergoing obligatory military service.
