Coconut Kale Smoothie

1 banana, peeled

1 orange, peeled and deseeded

1 medium carrot, chopped

3 cups curly kale, stems removed

8 ounces unsweetened coconut milk

Due to the bitterness of Kale, the other fruits are added to make it less bitter. If you don’t mind the bitterness, you can always omit the rest.

Mango Avocado and Lime


Mangos are known to improve eye health, lower cholesterol, fight diabetes. Combined with the vitamin-rich Avocado and the lime which helps cure a lot of ailments, you can drink this slightly tangy smoothie knowing your system will thank you for it. To make this;

1 sliced avocado

1 cup sliced mango

1 tablespoon lime juice

1 tablespoon fresh mint (optional)

1 teaspoon honey

2 cups crushed ice

Kale Spinach and pear

1/2 a cucumber, peeled and sliced

1 stalk of celery

1 handful of kale

1 apple, peeled and sliced

1 pear, peeled and sliced

1 teaspoon lemon juice

Juice all of the ingredients in order, ending with the lemon juice. If you find that the juice is too thick, pour a bit of water into your juicer to get the last bits of goodness out, and dilute the end product.

Strawberry, Banana, Coconut Smoothie


The tanginess of the strawberry and sweetness of the banana and coconut milk makes a very tasty combination. All you’ll need are;

1/2 cup low-fat coconut milk

10 fresh strawberries (or 1 cup frozen strawberries)

1 banana

1/2 cup of your favorite milk

1 handful of ice

Combine all ingredients in your blender and blend.

2 cups cold water
