1. She was a child when her parents divorced
Danna Paola counts among the very many celebrities who come from broken homes. She was born as Danna Paola Rivera Munguía on the 23rd of June, 1995 in Mexico City, Mexico. Danna is the second daughter/child of Juan Jose Rivera Arellano (a former singer), and Patricia Munguia. Unfortunately, her parents divorced while she was still in her childhood years. Following their separation, her mother raised her alongside her elder sister, Vania. Growing up, Danna learned how to play the guitar and piano.
2. Danna started her acting career at 4
It all started after Televisa published casting and auditioning calls for Plaza Sésamo, a Mexican version of American children’s television series, Sesame Street. Danna’s sister, Vania took her to the auditioning and fortunately, the two sisters were cast in recurring roles on the 1999 TV show. Danna subsequently featured in Rayito de Luz (2000), and Maria Belen (2001), playing her first lead role on the latter.
Unlike Viana who dropped off the screens after their debut, Danna would go on to feature in several other Televisa TV series in subsequent years including Amy, la niña de la mochila azul, Pablo y Andrea, Atrévete a Soñar, and Atrévete a Soñar, among others. She later made her film debut in Tear This Heart Out (2008), aged 12.

While her mates were busy with all sorts of frivolities, Paola was busy with her career, music inclusive. At the very young age of six, she was ready with her first album titled Mi Globo Azul, released in 2001. By the time she clocked nine, Dana released her second studio album titled Océano (2004). In 2005, she dished out her third album, Chiquita pero picosa. She subsequently released an eponymous EP in 2007.
In 2012, Paola she came up with her first album as an independent “grown-up” singer. She titled the album which is her overall fourth, Dana Paola. In 2015, she collaborated with fellow Mexican singer, Lalo Brito to make the duet “Mientras Me Enamoras” whose music video they released on Brito’s YouTube channel in September of the same year. 4. She was the youngest to play “Elphaba” in theater
Elphaba is a witch in the Broadway Musical, Wicked. At the age of 18, Danna Paola became the youngest to portray the character in professional theater. That was in 2013 when she performed the role at Teatro Telcel, Mexico City. Between 2013 and 2015, Danna appeared in more than 300 theater productions of Wicked.
Her critically acclaimed performance on the play opened bigger doors of opportunities for Paola, including a lead role in Hoy no me puedo levantar as well as contract with popular telenovela network, Telemundo. She has since starred in several Telemundo productions including ¿Quién es quién?, La Doña, and José José: El príncipe de la canción.
