A.C.E – Members Profile, Discography and Quick Facts

A.C.E is a five-member pop boy group from South Korea, formed by an entertainment management agency called Beat Interactive. The group came into existence in 2017 and shortly after, they launched their debut single, “Cactus” on the 23rd of May, 2017. Since then, they have gone on to release other commercially successful and chart-topping songs, including “Callin,” “5TAR,” “Take Me Higher,” and much more. A.C.E Members Profile

As earlier mentioned, A.C.E is a South Korean five-member boy group. The five members of the group include Jun, Donghun, Wow, Kim Byeongkwan, and Chan. Let’s get to know the quintet one after the other.

Jun – Park Junhee

He was born as Park Junhee on 2nd June 1994 in Suncheon, South Korea but is popular with the stage name Jun. The singer is the leader of the band and also serves as a lead vocalist and lead dancer. Jun can also play the piano and guitar. Before debuting with A.C.E, Jun initially trained with Jellyfish Entertainment’s VIXX. However, he later moved to CJ E&M, before finally joining Beat Interactive.

Donghun – Lee Donghun

Donghun is the main vocalist on A.C.E; he was born as Lee Donghun on 28th February 1993  and he is a native of Gyeonggi-do, South Korea. The vocalist was inspired to pursue music by his mother who is an award-winning singer. While he was a college student, Donghun featured on Superstar K5, where he finished among the top 10. He later participated in and won an episode on I Can See Your Voice before joining CJ E&M as a trainee.

Wow – Kim Sehyoon

Wow is a vocalist, rapper, and main dancer on A.C.E. He was born as Kim Sehyoon on 15th May 1993 in Jeolla-do, South Korea. Prior to debuting on A.C.E, Wow attended the Plug-In Music Academy, after which he trained at YG Entertainment and CJ E&M. In addition to singing and dancing, he also writes songs. He contributed to the lyrics of his band’s single, “Take Me Higher” from their EP, A.C.E Adventures in Wonderland.

Kim Byeongkwan

Kim Byeongkwan features as a vocalist, rapper, and the main dancer of A.C.E. He formerly went by the stage name, Jason before deciding to use his real name in 2018. Born on 13th August 1996 in Seoul, South Korea, he attended the Hanlim Multi Art School in Seoul before joining JYP Entertainment in 2014. Having lived in Canada for eight months, Kim can speak some level of English. He participated in YG’s reality survival show, MixNine.

Chan – Kang Yuchan

Chan works as the main vocalist on A.C.E and he is the youngest member (maknae) of the band. Born as Kang Yuchan in Jeju, South Korea on the 31st of December 1997, he initially wanted to be a soccer player despite his parents owning a recording store. His interest, however, diverted to music during his high school days where he was part of a dance group called Alive87.

Before launching with A.C.E, he trained under JYP Entertainment and also attended the Dong-Ah Institute of Media and Arts in Anseong, South Korea. He participated in and survived the KBS reality program, The Unit and debuted with UNB in 2018.

Quick Facts About A.C.E

  • The group’s name, A.C.E stands for “adventure Calling Emotions”. Their fandom name is Choice.
  • A.C.E’s first EP, A.C.E Adventures in Wonderland peaked at #6 on the Korean chart and sold about twenty thousand copies.
  • Their second EP, UnderCover was the band’s first project to reach the top 10 on the US chart, peaking at #9. It also reached #8 on the Korean chart and sold almost thirty thousand copies in the country.
  • The group has won several music awards including SBS PopAsia Awards’ Rookie of the Year (2017), StarHub Night of Stars’ Best Newcomer Award (2018), and Soribada Best K-Music Awards Next Artist Award, among others.
