His real name is Allen Neal Jones, better known by his ring name, AJ Styles. He was born in Marine Corps Base Camp, Lejeune, Jacksonville, North Carolina, on 2nd June 1977. He is one of the four sons born to his parents. The details of his parents and siblings identities are not known, except that his father served in the marines as of the time of his birth. His family relocated to Gainesville, Carolina, when he was a year old. AJ Styles was brought up along with his three brothers in a trailer park in abject penury and his father took solace in alcoholism after leaving the Marines, thereby making the situation worse.

The skillful wrestler enrolled in Johnson High School, Gainesville, Georgia, where he participated actively in baseball and basketball and later began playing football from 8th grade. He started developing strong ardor for wrestling due to his friends’ interest in the game and he later became very good at it, so much that he obtained a scholarship into Anderson University, South Carolina to learn physical education. However, Styles didn’t finish his studies at the university as he opted out and joined Professional Wrestling School to become a wrestler. In order to survive, he took up odd jobs and worked as an ambulance driver, water supplier, and lawn mower while at the wrestling school.

After undergoing training under the tutelage of the iconic wrestler, Rick Michaels, AJ Styles made his first wrestling appearance against Michael Brooks in National Championship Wrestling promotion in 1998. Although he lost the match, he went on to clinch the NCW Television Championship. Soon after that, the proficient wrestler moved on to make numerous appearances in several wrestling promotions like TNA, WCW, WWF, ROH, among several others. He is currently with WWE – since 2016, operating under SmackDown brand of the WWE.

They both share three sons; Ajay Covell Jones (born on 5th May 2005), Avery Jones (born on 14th February 2007), Albey Jones (born on 15th September 2009) and a daughter, Anney Jones who was born on 8th October 2014.
