The actress has a lot of respect for her heritage and has built a career around it. Sadau had her primary and secondary education in the country until she jetted off to Northern Cyprus for college.
She Attended Some Of the Best Schools In Nigeria And Abroad
Rahama is privileged to be one of the most educated northerners. Despite the level of wealth circulated in the northern part of Nigeria, very few of the families feel the need to educate their female children as they are married off (child marriage) rather early.
For her early education, Rahama attended Libayi International School for her primary school education, after which she joined Kaduna Capital School for her junior secondary school education. She then went to Misbau Islam for her senior secondary education. After she completed her secondary school education, she proceeded to Kaduna State Polytechnic to study Business Administration.
To better prepare herself for the challenges of being in the entertainment industry and building a career as a businesswoman, Rahama enrolled at the Eastern Mediterranean University in Northern Cyprus, where she studied Human Resource Management at their school of business Finance.
Rahama’s Venture Into Acting Stirred A Lot Of Controversies
Rahama joined Kannywood – the Hausa-language movie industry in 2013 through someone she considers a friend and mentor – Ali Nuhu. She began her career by playing a few minor roles before gaining fame from her “Gani ga Wane” performance alongside Kannywood actor Ali Nuhu. Her career took off from there, and she began to get more diverse movie roles which made her popularity soar.
In October 2016, Rahama was suspended for appearing in a romantic music video with a Jos-born singer – Classiq. The Motion Picture Practitioners Association of Nigeria (MOPPAN), the dominant association in Kannywood placed the ban on her career for violating their rules. It lingered for a while. In 2017, she wrote to apologize to MOPPAN, and the ban was lifted in January 2018 after the Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje intervened on the matter.
During the time of her ban from Kannywood, Rahama kept busy with other projects. In 2017, she started her own production company, which she named Sadau Pictures. Her first movie production is titled Rariya starring popular actors like Ali Nuhu, Sani Musa Danja, Fati Washa, and Sadiq Sani Sadiq, to mention a few.
She returned to acting in 2017 to play the career teacher in MTV Shuga. Some of her other popular roles are in Zero Hour (2019), Up North (2018), If I Am President (2018), TATU (2017), Rumana (2017), Sons of the Caliphate (2016), The Other Side (2016), to mention a few.
