Amy was born on June 1, 1981, in Manhattan, New York, United States of America and into a well to do family, who unfortunately became poor after they lost their business. Her parents are Gordon David Schumer and Sandra Jane. She is related to the United States senator, Chuck Schumer. She was raised as a jew and she faced a lot of bullying as a child because of her beliefs. As a result of her family’s failed business, things got worse for the family after her father was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Soon, her parents decided to get a divorce since they could no longer tolerate themselves. That led to the comedian’s history of growing up in Rockville Center New York, staying with her mother and also schooling there.
With time, Amy Schumer had to leave Rockville center in order to pursue her studies at Towson University. After she graduated, she proceeded to study at William Esper Studio for a few years.
