It is public knowledge that the actress is married to co-Hollywood actor, Brad Pitt. Together they have 6 children of which 3 were ‘internationally’ adopted. This throws just a little light on the generosity of this super-star to the less privileged.

In 2001 Angelina Jolie became a UN goodwill ambassador, working under the capacity of a UNHCR- United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. To that effect, she is currently working with 27 organisations around the world.

Passive is one word that does not suit her efforts to make the world a better place for refugees. Angelina has traveled far and wide to over 30 countries in over 10 years; sustaining and supporting refugees of the world as well as displaced people.

Her Philanthropy has been seen in countries such as: Syria, Iraq, Sierra Leone, Jordan, Thailand, Haiti, Kenya, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Jordan, Egypt, Costa Rica and Chad.

In 2006, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt launched the Jolie Pitt Foundation with a whooping $1 million. The foundation was set up to cater to the needs of suffering people around the world.

For an exclusive rights to publish her first pregnancy pictures, Angelina Jolie raised donations for her charities. In exchange for the publishing of the pictures by People Magazine, she made about $500,000 for the running and funding of her affiliated charity organizations.
