Anja Loven, The Danish Aid Worker Who Rescued Nigerian ‘Witch Child’ Is World’s Most Inspiring Person



Earlier this year, a Danish aid worker Anja Ringgren Lovén went viral for rescuing a child off the streets who was abandoned on the accusation that he’s a witch.

Anja Lovén, currently based in Nigeria, has been nominated for the OOOM 100: The World’s Most Inspiring People for rescuing the boy whom she called ‘Hope’. Also on the list is US President Barack Obama, Pope Francis, Leonardo DiCpario, the Dalai Lama, Mark Zuckerberg, Bob Dylan, as well as actresss and activist Charlize Theron.

I’m so speechless and I’m very honored. This is such an important acknowledgement of DINNødhjælp/ACAEDF humanitarian work in Nigeria,” Lovén wrote.

She also showed appreciation to her husband, Emmanuel David Umem and other partners of the children’s home in Akwa Ibom, Nigeria.
