Ann Lepage: Meet The First Lady Turned Waitress

What would ever make a first lady of a state take up a part-time job as a waitress?

Ann Lepage is the wife to Paul LePage, the governor of Maine state, in the northeastern region of the United States. Her husband revealed during a recent function that he is the least paid governor in America.

Ann Lepage took up the waitress job at McSeagull, a local seafood restaurant in order to save up money to buy herself a Toyota Rav4 like she had always wanted. With her husband’s annual salary of $70, 000, Ann figured the best way to support the income is to get a job as well.

The LePages family bought a $215,000 Boothbay home in 2014. They live with their dog, in the mansion located in Augusta.

Anne Lepage has been the first lady for about 5 years now. Still the first lady title is not interfering with the reality that demands her getting a job. Instead of siting around and depending on anyone, the first lady thought it wise to be useful with her time. She works 3 times in a week- Monday, Thursday and Friday at lunchtime.

“Because of who I am and who I’m married to, I want to work extra hard just so I can show them I can do the job.”- Anne Lepage.

And of all the extra jobs or fund-raising activities to do, Maine’s first lady did not rule out the humblest of jobs to do. Ann seems to be doing well at the local restaurant.

“It’s not just all fun and games, there’s a lot of grueling side work that comes with it and she doesn’t stop. I wish they could all be like her.”– Jackie Barnicoat, McSeagull’s General Manager.
