Ariana Grande was born full name Ariana Grande-Butera on June 26, 1993, in Baco Raton, Florida. She is of Italian descent as may be easy to guess from her full-name. The Italian beauty was initially popular for her role as Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon TV series, Victorious. The show had a spin-off named Sam & Cat where Ariana once again played Cat Valentine. In 2013, her musical transition occurred with her debut single, “The Way” from her debut album, Yours Truly. Her 2014 single “Problem” peaked at number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and the singer’s worldwide success was truly established. She went on to release a sophomore album, titled “My Everything” on August 25, 2014.
Her third studio album titled “Dangerous Woman” came out in March 2016 and was the precursor for her 2017 Dangerous Woman Tour which grossed $71 million. She received honorary citizenship in Manchester after she organized and performed at the One Love Manchester benefit concert. Her fourth studio album dubbed “Sweetener” is to be released on August 17, 2018. The singer also currently has a partnership with Reebok.
Ariana Grande’s parents are Joan Grande and Edward Butera. They named their daughter after Princess Oriana from Felix the Cat and also the shortened name of an Italian Car manufacturer Ferrari. Before Ariana, however, the family had a son named Frankie who is a half-brother to Ariana. Frankie is a performer and producer. He is also said to be gay and is one of the reasons why Ariana Grande is so strong in her advocacy for LGBT rights.
Her parents separated when Ariana Grande was 8 or 9 years old. Before then, the family took a cruise that would have a huge impact on the singer. On the cruise, she sang karaoke with Gloria Estefan listening to her. The famous Latin singer told the little girl to follow her dreams and Ariana was inspired to sing and act. She started taking music seriously when she was 13 years old.
Ariana Grande stands at just 5 feet 2 inches or 1.59 meters. At that height, she is certainly less-than-average. She, however, regularly puts on high-heeled knee boots and miniskirts which help to give an illusion of her being much taller.
Ariana Grande is currently engaged to Pete Davidson. Over the years, she has dated quite a number of people including a three-year relationship with actor Graham Phillips that ended in December 2011. She began a relationship with one of her backup dancers Jordan Viscomi after that break-up but the two split in mid-2012. Other relationships that followed included her brief stints with Jai Brooks from the YouTube group “The Janoskians”, Nathan Sykes from the British boy band “The Wanted”, rapper Big Sean and another backup dancer named Ricky Alvarez.
Another long relationship was that of her and rapper Mac Miller which started in August 2016. Mac Miller had been featured on Ariana’s “The Way” and on a remix of 2016 hit single “Into You”. She likewise made an appearance on Mac Miller’s album as a feature on the track “My Favorite Part.” Miller was a part of several performances at the One Love benefit concert organized by Ariana Grande and held after the Manchester attack. Ariana Grande announced in May 2018 that they had broken up but their friendship would remain intact.
Soon after the announced breakup, it was reported that Ariana Grande was now “casually dating” Pete Davidson the actor and comedian. The two met in March 2016 when Ariana hosted and performed on Saturday Night Live. Pete Davidson is a cast member on the show. It was barely a month later in June 2018 when Ariana Grande confirmed that they were now engaged.
