It is also no longer news that the film’s lead stars, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will be reprising their iconic roles of Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett respectively. However, what shape will this third installment take? Who are the new stars, as well as the old faces that will be joining the cast? When will the movie hit the cinemas? However, with the passage of time, both have slowed down and will now have to team up with a young hot-blooded teem to get the job done.

When the idea of the Bad Boys threequel was first mooted, Lawrence declared himself ready at any time. His co-star, Smith, however, stated that his return is contingent on him finding a space in his busy schedule. Thankfully, that space materialized and Smith would be gracing our screens as a bad boy once more. Smith and Lawrence have been teasing the new film on their social media handles; sharing behind-the-scene photos as well as other snippets. Other new cast members are Jacob Scipio (who will portray the chief villain – Armando Armas) and Paola Nunez (who will play Lowrey’s ex-girlfriend as well as head of the specialized police unit). When is Bad Boys For Life Release Date?

The idea of a Bad Boys threequel was first mooted as far back as 2008. It, however, took more concrete shape in 2015 when producer, Jerry Bruckheimer, hired Joe Carnahan as director and David Guggenheim as the screenwriter. Sony pictures thereafter announced that the film will hit the cinemas in February 2017 while Bad Boys 4 will follow suit in July 2019.

This prediction never materialized as several issues forced the film to be pushed back several times. Bad Boys 3 finally commenced filming in Atlanta, Georgia, in January 2019 and wrapped up in Miami Beach, Florida, in June 2019. The movie is set to hit the cinemas in January 2020. Bad Boys for Life will face some tough competition for the attention of moviegoers. This is because other potential blockbusters are scheduled to be released around that period including Dr. Dollitle, Birds of Prey and The Grudge.

Who Is the director of Bad Boys 3?

Bad Boys and Bad Boys II were directed by renowned action flick director, Michael Bay. Bay will however not be returning to the director’s seat for the third installment as he is busy with other works including A Quiet Place II, The Purge 5, Robopocalypse and 6 Underground. Bad Boys 3 is now directed by Belgian filmmakers, Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah. The duo’s previous works include movies such as Black and Patser, and episodes of the TV series, Snowfall.

Prior to the hiring of Arbi and Fallah, Joe Carnahan was tapped to direct Bad Boys 3. He stayed on the project from 2015 to 2017 when he announced his departure. Carnahan has since disclosed that he quit the film due to creative differences with Will Smith. Despite his departure, Carnahan’s input will still form a pivotal part of Bad Boys 3. The filmmaker is responsible for the film’s basic plot which sees the aging stars team up with a group of hotshot young cops to tackle the drug cartels.
