Ben Affleck’s Biography & Age

Benjamin Geza Affleck-Boldt, commonly known as Ben Affleck, was born on August 15, 1972, in Berkeley, California in the United States of America. Ben’s father, Timothy Byers Affleck was a man of many talents. He worked many jobs at Harvard to provide for his family; while his mother, Christopher Anne (née Boldt) was an Elementary School teacher that was educated at Harvard. Ben’s father was probably where he got his exposure to the acting/showbiz world as he was an aspiring playwright, who worked for the Theater Company of Boston as an actor and Stage Manager.

Ben’s family moved to Massachusetts when he was just 3, and this was the city where his younger brother, Casey, was born in 1975.  His father had problems with alcoholism when he was young, and he recalled seeing his father drinking and getting drunk every day; his father’s addiction to the bottle was probably one of the reasons why his parents got divorced in 1984 Ben and his brother Casey thereafter lived with their mother.

Ben Affleck attended Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, in Cambridge, Massachusetts where he completed his high school. He was inspired by his drama teacher to take part in the theatrical productions while in school. He met his long term friend, Matt Damon, while in high school and they have remained friends ever since. He got admission into the University of Vermont, Burlington in the United States, where he was studying Spanish. He left the institution after he sustained a hip injury while playing basketball. In 1990, Ben moved to Los Angeles where he got admission into Occidental College in California to study Middle Eastern Affairs, but he left the institution after one and half years into his studies.

Ben Affleck, thereafter, teamed up with his buddy, Matt Damon, and they both traveled to New York for acting auditions, saving part of their earnings from acting jobs to buy airline and train tickets on a joint account to move around easily.
