Ben Stiller was born as Benjamin Edward Meara Stiller on November 30, 1965, in New York. His parents were juggernauts in the entertainment industry. He grew up in Manhattan’s Upper West Side and was able to kick off his acting career when he was about nine years of age, playing a role in the short-lived TV series Kate McShane. He then went on to perform with the New York City troupe NYC’s First All Children’s Theater where he played a couple of roles.
Stiller received his high school education at The Cathedral School of St. John the Divine but finished from the Calhoun School in New York. He then went on to enroll at the University of California, Los Angeles for further studies but quit after just nine months to launch his career. He soon landed a small role in the TV show Guiding Light (aired from 1952 -2009), and Broadway theatre production The House of Blue Leaves.
Ben Stiller’s big break in the industry came after he starred in Steven Spielberg’s Empire of the Sun in 1987. Ben Stiller was previously married to Christine Taylor, an actress whose notable work was as Marcia Brady in the movie The Brady Bunch (1995).
