The BET Awards 2017 is meant to be aired live on Sunday, June 25, at 8 p.m. ET. The list of nominees was released yesterday and not surprisingly, Beyonce led with seven nominations. Some of these include ‘Best Female R&B/Pop Artist’,’Best Collaboration’ with Kendrick Lamar for “Freedom”, ‘Video of the Year,’ and ‘Album of the Year’ for “Lemonade”.
This year, however, Beyonce will be facing off against her sister, Solange, in some of those categories. To be precise, Beyonce alongside her sister, Solange got three nods and fans cannot help but wonder how it’s all going to turn out. Nonetheless, one would still be right to say that this is surely a welcome development.
The men are not left out, Bruno Mars followed Queen B with 5 nominations which include Album of the Year,’ ‘Best Male R&B/Pop Artist,’ and ‘Video of the Year’ for “24K Magic.
In the Best International Act: Africa category, Nigeria leads the charge with four artists; Davido, Mr. Eazi, Wizkid, and Tekno.
