BET hip hop awards 2017

The BET hip hop awards 2017 meant to celebrate African-American accomplishments in entertainment and sports was recorded on Saturday 7th October but was aired on Tuesday night, October 10.

The annual star-studded Black Entertainment Television affair celebrating what is now officially the most popular genre of music was hosted by nominee and award winner DJ Khaled and was finally aired with the live telecast being held at the Microsoft Theater in sunny Los Angeles.

The big event had the likes of DJ Khaled, Cardi B and Migos gracing the stage alongside some of Florida’s biggest power players. Among these musical bigwigs include Rick Ross, Trina, Trick Daddy, T-Pain, Plies and Flo Rida. Yo Gotti and Playboi Carti were slated to bring their top 40 hits onto the grand stage, as well.

DJ Khaled, Cardi and Kendrick Lamar all lead the way with nine nominations. Khaled was awarded DJ of the year, Best Collabo and MVP of the year while Kendrick Lamar took home three awards with his “DAMN.” winning the album of the year while his “HUMBLE.” won video of the year.

Eminem also got people thrilled with his freestyle cypher ripping President Donald Trump. The four-minute rant had the rapper going after Trump’s policies on immigration, corruption, white supremacy, the NFL, gun control, environmental disasters, hypocrisy and more.
