Bret Michaels started his career in the late nineties with a group of friends under the name Paris. After playing locally as a group for a few years, they moved to Los Angeles in search of greener pastures, and it was there that Paris became Poison.
With the change of name and a rework of their music style, they attracted Enigma Records which they subsequently signed a deal and worked with on a few of their albums. They went on to release a few musical gigs, some making it to the billboard charts while others became fan favorite. Till date, the now-disbanded group is known for songs like Talk To Me Dirty, Open Up and Say Ah, Every Rose Has Its Thorn, Flesh and Blood and a host of others despite that they struggle in the latter part of their music career.
