Callista Gingrich is an American diplomat, author, businesswoman, documentary film producer, currently serving as the United States Ambassador to the Holy See. A role she assumed on December 22, 2017, two months after her nomination was confirmed by the United States Senate.

Callista Louise Gingrich was born—Callista Louise Bisek—in Whitehall, Wisconsin, USA, on March 4, 1966, to parents, Alphonse Emil Bisek and Bernita (Krause) Bisek. Her father, Alphonse, worked in a packing plant while her mother worked as a secretary. She attended Whitehall Memorial High School where she graduated as valedictorian of her class of 1984. She then proceeded to Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where she majored in music and graduated cum laude in 1988. While there, she was a member of Pi Kappa Lambda.
