Who Is Chelsea Field?

The American actress was born in the city of Glendale, Los Angeles County, California in the United States on the 27th of May 1957 as the only daughter of Will Botfield, who was a horse trainer. The details of her mother and siblings (if any) are unknown as she has successfully hidden their information from the media.

While growing up, her father purchased a horse named ‘Lady in Red’ from the renowned Canadian actor, author, producer, director, and singer, William Shatner which improved her horse-riding abilities as an equestrian. Being highly energetic in her youthful days, Chelsea Field fully participated in many sports including trick riding, ice skating, gymnastics, and track-and-field while still nurturing her dreams of becoming a professional dancer. She fulfilled that dream at the age of 17 after whetting her dancing skills in a Jazz class.

Her passion paved way for her as she landed her first dancing gig in 1983 by appearing in an American syndicated music TV series, Solid Gold as a dancer for two years. Chelsea Field followed it up by making her first small-screen appearance as a Dancer in an episode of 1984 drama series, Glitter. She went on to make her first cinematic appearance the following year as Randy in 1985 Aaron Latham romantic film, Perfect.

After making minor appearances in films and TV series like Commando (1985), Airwolf (1985), and CBS Summer Playhouse (1987), Scott Bakula’s wife was shot to stardom with her impressive portrayal of Teela in David Odell’s 1987 action-fantasy film, Masters of the Universe, starring alongside Dolph Lundgren, Frank Langella, and Meg Foster.

She landed herself a handful of films and TV roles after the success of the aforementioned movie which includes playing the role of Katherine in Prison (1987), Karen in an episode of A Year in the Life (1988), Chris Barnes in three episodes of The Bronx Zoo (1988), and Emily Burch in an episode of Thirtysomething (1988). From 1988 to 1992, Chelsea Field starred in many critically and commercially successful movies and TV series including Skin Deep, Just Temporary, An Inconvenient Woman, and The Last Boy Scout, but it was her role of Wendy Robinson in Richard Stanley’s 1992 horror movie, Dust Devil that earned her Fangoria Chainsaw Awards nomination for Best Actress.

Furthermore, the actress went on to star as Christine Johnson opposite James Woods, Mercedes Ruehl, and Lolita Davidovich in the Golden Globe award-winning film, Indictment: The McMartin Trial (1995). Currently, she is appearing in a recurring capacity as Rita Devereaux opposite her husband, Scott Bakula, who is the lead character, in the crime-drama TV series, NCIS: New Orleans.

How Long Has Chelsea Field And Scott Bakula Been Married?

Chelsea Field first came in contact with her now-husband, Scott Bakula, on the set of the 1994 William Delligan thriller film, A Passion to Kill. Despite being married with two kids to actress Krista Neumann at that time, Scott Bakula kicked off a romantic relationship with Chelsea Field. Following Bakula’s divorce with Neumann in 1995, the lovebirds welcomed their first child together named, Wil Botfield Bakula on 1st December 1995, whom she named after her father. The duo expanded their small circle with the arrival of their second son, Owen Barrett Bakula in 1999.

After being in a relationship for fifteen years, the couple solemnized the union in 2009 in the presence of a few family and friends. So far, Chelsea Field has been married for ten years but has been in a romantic relationship with her husband for over 24 years now.
