Danny Trevathan’s Biography

Daniel Eugene Trevathan was born on March 24, 1990, in Youngstown, Ohio, the United States of America to American Parents, Vincent Hicks and Michelle Hicks. His dad was an athlete who played good football in his prime for the University of Toledo during his College days. His Mum advised him to Keep God first in all his dealings and be better than his peers in everything he found himself doing.

He attended Leesburg High School in Florida, with his speed and intense style of football; he was highly admired and cheered by his schoolmates. He was a three-year starter for his High school team where he contributed immensely to the team’s appearances in the State Playoffs for three seasons. Danny also participated in all sorts of sporting activities in the school including weightlifting, basketball, and track. His exploits in the school earned him some accolades, he was named the Area Defensive Player of the Year by the Leesburg Daily Commercial.

Daniel Trevathan left high school very spirited with impressive stats after which he enrolled at the University of Kentucky for his college education. The future NFL star played under coach Rich Brooks and Joker Philips. He was selected to the first team All-SEC in 2010 after recording 144 tackles that nearly earned him a first-team all conference selection. He also clinched the college football linebacker honor after his impressive tackles in his final year. Danny left college feeling fulfilled as he entered the 2012 NFL Draft.

The Linebacker was selected in the sixth round by the Denver Broncos as the 188th overall in the 2012 NFL Draft and officially inked a $2.2 million four year contract on May 22, 2012. He began his professional career in a grand style with a season-opening match his team triumphed over the Pittsburgh Steelers with 31-19. Against Oakland Raiders, he had his first career tackle as he charged against Mike Godson in the fourth quarter in which his team would record a 37-6 victory. He recorded a season-high six combined tackles as well as his first career sack on quarterback Andy Dalton in a 31-23 win over Cincinnati Bengals. He brought his rookie season to a remarkable end with 33 combined tackles (22 solos), 3 pass deflections and a sack in 16 games with 16 starts.

The following season (2013), Danny Trevathan finished with a career-high 128 combined tackles (88 solos), a career-high 10 pass deflections, 3 interceptions, and 2 sacks in 16 games starting the whole 16. He gave his best to the team till he left them in 2015 as a free agent.

The Chicago Bears acquired Trevathan’s services in a $22 million four year deal which he signed on March 9, 2016. The deal has $12 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $5 million. He continued with his wonders in his new team and finished his first season with 66 combined tackles (49 solo), four pass deflections, and a sack in 9 games out of which he started 8. He was named 2018 NFL season week 2 NFC Defensive player after making six solo tackles, 2 assists, 2 sacks in a 24-17 Monday Night Football victory against the Seattle Seahawks. He still has a whole lot in him to offer in NFL.

Danny Trevathan has a lady that he is so much attached to since his College days; her name is Latoria Burns, the Daughter of Vicky Burns who hails from Jackson, Mississippi. Latoria has brothers named Travis and Marvin.

Following Danny’s relationship with Latoria, the latter discovered she was pregnant in 2013 and delivered a baby girl on November 14, 2014. The beautiful baby was named Danior Louise Trevathan. The three beautiful souls have appeared at events together making it difficult for a lot of people to know that the two lovebirds have not taken a marital vow. However, they sure have things in common. If and when the wedding bell rings for the duo, it will surely be made known.

Why was Danny Trevathan Suspended?

Danny Trevathan made headlines for the wrong reasons in 2017 following a dangerous hit he made on the head of the Green Bay Packers wide receiver, Davante Adams on September 28, 2017. Adams was taken off the field and was sent to the hospital to ascertain the level of injury he sustained in the ugly incident.

Initially, Danny was slammed with two match suspension without pay after the incident was investigated. The League announced his suspension on Saturday of the following week. Danny, however, appealed the two-match suspension and it was reduced by one game after his appeal was heard by Hall of Fame Linebacker, Derrick Brook who was jointly appointed by the NFL and NFL Players Association. Danny felt remorseful for his assault on his opponent and subsequently apologized.

Height and Weight

Many still see Danny Trevathan as being undersized for the NFL, but the stylish baller sees himself as the best man that can get the needed Jobs done without hitches. He has got the muscles and the chest, maybe the height is what he may not have got, but he delivers results when called upon to do so. Danny stands at a height of 6 ft 1 or 1.85m and weighs 109kg or 49lbs.
