Danyelle Sargent kick-started her career at the Fox/ABC – affiliated television station, WGXA situated in Macon, Georgia. From 2002 to 2004, she was associated with a Kansas City-based sports channel, Metro Sports where she carried out reporting duties and equally anchored sports programs.

Later on, she began reporting from the sideline for the professional American football team, The Kansas City Chiefs during their pre-season games in 2004. Sargent’s father-in-law Bill Musselman was an American basketball coach who became popular for his exploits in the NBA, NCAA, NBA, CBA as well as in the WBA. He served as the head coach of several teams such as Cleveland Cavaliers, Albany Patrons, and others. His accomplishments include lifting the CBA championship four times and becoming CBA Coach of the Year in 1988. Sadly, he passed away at the age of 59 on May 5, 2000, from heart and kidney failure.
