Turning a new leaf is something that people seldom get right. But once in a while, people like David Packouz execute it flawlessly. He is popularly known for being an arms dealer, but that is all in the past. It all came tumbling down when he was convicted to 7 months of house arrest for conspiracy to defraud the United States. In fact, the movie War Dogs starring Jonah Hill and Miles Teller is based on his life. It is no secret that he is now a well-established entrepreneur, based on that, here is some close-up and personal information about him.

Who Is David Packouz?

He was born David Mordechai Packouz in the year 1982, in St. Louis Missouri to an orthodox Jewish Family. In fact, he is the son of Shoshana and Rabbi Kalman Packouz of the Orthodox Aish HaTorah. His father even authored the book How to Prevent an Intermarriage. Theirs was a big family, with him having 8 siblings from his mother and father. Apart from that, there is really not a whole lot out there about his childhood and upbringing. All in all, his adult life is a lot more interesting.

When David Packouz was 19 years old, he joined Efraim Diveroli’s arms company AEY Incorporated. Business was quite good with them being awarded 149 contracts worth around $10.5 million by the end of 2006. The next year saw them securing a $300 million contract from the U.S government. It involved them supplying the Afghan Army with 100 million rounds of AK-47 ammunition as well as some other heavy-duty weaponry.

Unfortunately, AEY violated the stipulated terms of the contract with the U.S Army by supplying from Chinese ammunition. Nevertheless, the part that got them unwanted media attention is the age of the young Miami Beach arms dealer. There was also their affinity to marijuana which earned them the names ‘the stoner arms dealers’. Both Diveroli and David Packouz went away for some time. But while Diveroli was sentenced to four years in federal prison, Packouz got seven months’ house arrest.

David Packouz’s Family – Wife and Daughter

There is a shroud of mystery surrounding David Packouz wife. The fact of the matter is that no one really knows much about his wife or girlfriend. Nevertheless, it is generally speculated that he is married and there is a story there. The public got a little insight when the movie War Dogs ran in theaters. In this portrayal, he carried out illegal dealings as a result of his girlfriend Iz’s unplanned pregnancy. Nevertheless, the real-life version of that story has a lot more twists and turns. The book that the movie was based on had Packouz dating a Spanish lady named Sara. So, obviously, there are different stories out in circulation.

It is evident that he adores her and does not hesitate to gush over her on social media. In all, it is obvious that he is a bit more open about her than he is with his wife.

Apart from his wife and daughter, David Packouz still has his 8 siblings as well as his mother and father as part of his family. There is not much information about his siblings out there. But, his father, Rabbi Kalman Packouz, is somewhat a public figure. He is a prevalent orthodox Jew, raised in Portland, Oregon. The Rabbi is associated with quite a few milestones in the Jewish Community. It was his idea to launch the Shabbat Shalom Weekly in 1992, which is an electronic publication distributed each week via fax and email. The man is most known for his publication, How to Prevent an Intermarriage – A Guide For Parents to Prevent Broken Hearts.
