Debbie Haas Meyer was married to legendary crooner – Andy Williams. Her husband initially rose to fame, in the 40s, as part of a successful singing quartet which he formed with his three brothers. How Did Her Husband Die?

Meyer and her husband lived in marital bliss from 1991 to 2011. The couple’s joy was, however, cut short when the singer was diagnosed with bladder cancer in 2011. Debbie Meyer supported her husband all throughout his chemotherapy treatments. She also relocated with him to Malibu so that they could be closer to the cancer specialists treating him. All their efforts, however, came to naught as the singer succumbed to the disease on the 25th of September 2012.

Williams’ body was cremated and spread at his famous Moon River Theatre in Branson, Missouri. A funeral was later held for the singer a month after his demise. The funeral was attended by a thousand people and featured musical tributes from the likes of Osmond Brothers and the Gatlin brothers. For her own tribute, Debbie Meyer shared a video she had made of the couple’s life together. She also stated that her husband made her to believe in love at first sight.

Does Debbie Meyer Have Children?

Debbie Meyer and her husband did not have any kids together and this is most probably due to mutual agreement. The late singer, however, had three children from his first marriage to Claudine Longet, a French-American singer, actress, dancer and model. Andy Williams and Claudine got married on the 15th of December, 1961. Their union lasted for 14 years and produced three children namely Noelle, Robert, and Christian. Williams and Longet divorced in January 1975 but remained friends. The singer famously came to the aid of his ex-wife after she was accused of killing her then-boyfriend, Spider Sabich, in March 1976. Williams not only testified in Longet’s favor but publicly supported her all throughout the trial. He also paid for her defense team. The singer later justified his actions on the basis that Longet was the mother of his children.
