Dustin Johnson is the world number one golfer with an impressive track record of title wins and what looks like a pretty good love story going on in his personal life. Take a look down below at the life of the golfer who has 5 World Golf Championships and 17 PGA tour wins to his name as well as having emerged the winner of the 2016 U.S. Open held at Oakmont Country Club.
He was born on June 22, 1984, in Columbia, South Carolina, U.S.A. His pursuit of a higher education later in life led him to the Coastal Carolina University, while there he joined the golf team and began recording wins in 2007 at the Monroe Invitational and the Northeast Amateur games. He would go on to launch a career in the professional league riding on his wins in 2007 and by 2008, he began his PGA tour.
Right off the bat in his professional career, he won the Turning Stone Resort Championship and the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. The 2009 golf season met him at number 15 on the PGA Tour money list. His career continued to progress and as mentioned earlier he won 17 PGA tours, 5 World Golf Championships and emerged as the winner of the 2016 U.S. Open. Since he has also earned 5 wins between 2008 and 2015, he is also considered one of the top drivers on the PGA Tour. After he won the Sentry Tournament of Champions in 2018, he became the third player on the PGA tour history. Dustin also stands alongside legendary golfers like Jack Nicklaus and Tiger Woods as one of the only golfers to land a tour title in every season for his 11 seasons.
Dustin Johnson is probably one of the highest earning golf players in the world. His net worth has been placed in the park of $24 million, not surprising since he partners/ endorses high-end like Body Armor, Hublot and Adidas.
Who Is Dustin Johnson’s Wife, Paulina Gretzky?
Dustin Johnson is not married but he has been in a long time relationship that has resulted in an engagement. The lucky woman is Paulina Gretzky, a model and pop singer. The two met, weirdly enough, through Gretzky’s mother and the entire Gretzky family can be said to be as invested in their relationship as the two lovebirds themselves. It was in 2009 that Dustin Johnson met Janet Gretzky, Paulina’s mother and the wife of the legendary hockey player Wayne Gretzky. After the two met at the Hero World Challenge golf tournament, Janet invited Johnson over for dinner.
At the time, however, Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky had been in their own relationships so, despite an immediate click, they could only explore friendship. Johnson in fact became a friend of the family. It took three whole years for any relationship fires to be lit after the two met up at the World Challenge and then went for their first date. The Gretzky parents went along with them and their relationship blossomed from then on with Gretzky becoming a regular at Johnson’s tournaments.
A relationship which began in January 2013 resulted in engagement by August 2013. The couple has given hectic schedules as the reason behind the delay in wedding announcements. They have, however, now welcomed two children; Tatum Gretzky Johnson on January 20, 2015, and River Jones Johnson on June 12, 2017.
Affairs And Relationships
Despite being in a seemingly happy relationship with fiance Paulina Gretzky, Dustin Johnson has been linked to some women who it has been suggested that he has had affairs with whilst still being engaged to Paulina. One of such women is Alli Mackenzie, the wife of Will MacKenzie who is also a member of the pro golf tour. The two were implicated based on a sighting in South Florida where they were said to be shopping while displaying loving gestures. Alli Mackenzie has denied any claims of an affair, suggesting that nothing more than friendship is between the both of them and that she wishes the couple and their kids a happy home.
Dustin Johnson and Paulina Gretzky have also denied the existence of any affairs insisting that they have a loving relationship with no plans to cheat or break up. Dustin Johnson also told Sports Illustrated in 2015 that he had really grown and wanted to be a role model for his sons.
