Martin Luther King Day – 5 long decades gone and the FBI just realized or perhaps finally admitted that King was a Hero who deserved their praise and commendation.
Generations unborn will still remember Martin Luther King for tirelessly fighting for human rights for not just colored but all people.
Martin Luther was a subtle, yet efficiently great black revolutionary whose prowess resounded in every part of the world, echoing the need for social/racial equality.
He simply wanted social justice
It is worthy of note for the first time since the life and eventual death of Martin Luther King Jr, the FBI who once called him “filthy”, “notorious liar”, “dissolute, abnormal moral imbecile” publicly acknowledged his valor.
On Monday, January 16, 2017, Martin Luther King Day, the Federal Bureau of Investigation posted a tweet honoring Rev. Martin L. King Jr.
You know what they say:
“First they ignore you. Then they ridicule you. And then they attack you and want to burn you. And then they build monuments to you.”
-Nicholas Klein, socialist leader and union organizer(1914)
In an unwavering brevity, Luther challenged Jim Crow, which propagated hate and oppression of blacks in the United States. He said no to capitalism and condemned the Vietnam war.
A report says that Luther was arrested 30 times in his lifetime. As a target, the FBI’s Counter Intelligence Program spied on him, tapped his phone lines and sent him death threats. He was hounded and taunted in countless ways.
Last year, Yahoo reported that Martin Luther King day was done for the first time without the confederation flag- a flag which signified racial segregation.
Symbolically that was a fulfillment of Rev. King’s vision of equality and freedom.
In the same way, 2017 has seen the FBI sing the praises of the fallen black man as the Hero that he will always be.
NOTE: Martin Luther King day is observed on the third Monday of January each year, which was yesterday, the 16th of January, 2017.
