If you were a 90’s baby, you definitely grew up with the teenage acne-plagued face of Frankie Muniz gracing your screen. We saw him in Agent Cody Banks and in Big Fat Liar, but it was his role as the middle child in a working-class family on the American sitcom Malcolm in the Middle that garnered Muniz international recognition and success. The show scored Muniz an Emmy award nomination in 2001 and won him The Hollywood Reporter ‘Young Star Award’.
We don’t get to see a lot of Frankie Muniz these days as he’s reduced his on-screen presence and tried his hand at other ventures. Find out more below.
Frankie Muniz Bio – Age
Francisco Muniz IV was born in Ridgewood New Jersey on the 5th of December, 1985. His father Francisco III was a restaurant manager while his mother worked as a nurse. Muniz is 1/4 Irish and 1/4 Italian on his mother’s side, and 1/2 Puerto Rican on his father’s.
He spent his early childhood in Knightdale North Carolina until his parents separated and his mother moved back to New Jersey with Muniz and his elder sister Cristina in tow.
Muniz was homeschooled by his mother, and this allowed him to take on different acting and television gigs without disrupting his school schedule. His first acting experience came at the age of 8 when he participated in his community’s theater presentation of A Christmas Carol.
He made several appearances on existing shows such as Sabrina the Teenage Witch and had other small roles in a couple of movies. But it wasn’t until the year 2000 when he was cast in the period drama My Dog Skip alongside Kevin Bacon, Diane Lane, and Luke Wilson that Muniz began to gain notable attention.
In the same year, Muniz was cast as ‘Malcolm’ in the hit television sitcom Malcolm in the Middle from which his career skyrocketed. The show ran for 7 successful seasons before its final episode in May 2006.
During, and since the conclusion of Malcolm in the Middle, Muniz has starred in various other popular films including Big Fat Liar with Amanda Byrnes and Agent Cody Bankswith Anthony Anderson.
It’s pretty common for actors to turn writers, directors, and producers, and the same can be said for Frankie Muniz. In 2004, he wrote for and acted as executive producer for the television show Granted. In both 2006 and 2007, he was executive producer and associate producer respectively for the movies Choose Your Own Adventure: The Abominable Snowman and Choose Connor.
While in his mid-20s, Muniz suffered two mini-strokes and nine concussions and admitted in a 2017 interview that he currently suffers from memory loss so profound that he struggles to remember working on the set of Malcolm in the Middle.
In November of 2018, Muniz got engaged to his long-time girlfriend Page Price. Price is a former model who quit modeling at the age of 21 to become a tv presenter on a golf network.
While we’re happy for the couple, we do hope that this is going to be Muniz’s last engagement as the actor’s been engaged twice before. First, to former girlfriend Jamie Grady in 2005, then to his publicist Elycia Marie Turnbow, who was 10 years older, in 2011.
Muniz has stated that he would be lost without Price, as she helps him cope with his failing memory by writing down bits and pieces of his day in a journal so that he can go back and read it. How sweet! The couple currently lives in Scottsdale Arizona and we can’t wait for wedding pictures.
Frankie Muniz Net Worth
For an actor who began his on-screen appearance at quite an early age, it’s safe to say that Frankie Muniz has built a very comfortable nest egg for himself. Besides a healthy passion for acquiring cars, Muniz doesn’t seem to be the typical Hollywood obscene spender. The actor made a combined $8.5 million from the two Agent Cody Banks films alone. His current net worth is estimated to be $40 million, which is a really impressive figure for a celebrity his age.
When it comes to height, Frankie Muniz got the short end of the stick. (No pun intended). The 5-foot 5-inch (1.65m) actor was a late bloomer during his teenage years and didn’t really ‘bloom’ much further by the time he hit post-pubescence.
As a teenager, Muniz was so petite in stature that the actor who played his immediate older brother in Malcolm in the Middle was actually younger than him!
Where Is He Now?
Nowadays we mostly see Muniz in cameo appearances on different films and television shows. The actor had always been a fan of racecars and indulged in a 5-year racing stint. His racing was put on hold for a while after he underwent wrist surgery in 2009. He had one final run on the tracks in 2011 when he participated in the Toyota Pro/Celebrity race, finishing at 4th place.
There was no rest for this actor, who joined the band You Hang Up as their drummer. In 2012 he joined and played with Kingsfoil for two years before finally moving up in ranks as manager of the band Astro Lasso in 2017.
Frankie Muniz joined the cast of season 25 of Dancing With The Stars after which he was called to be a judge on the Dancing With The Stars: Juniors edition.
In addition to being a band manager, Muniz co-owns a specialty shop Outrageous Olive Oils & Vinegars with fiancee Paige Price.
