Inside Guy Fieri’s Family With Wife, Kids and Sister Who Died of Cancer

Over the years we have seen men dominate the kitchen and churn out amazing delicacies from it. Some do it way better than their female counterparts and one of such men is Guy Ramsay Fieri – an American TV host, celebrity chef, restaurant owner, bestselling author of four culinary books, and game show host. His culinary excellence has earned him an Emmy award as a TV celebrity personality.

But has Guy been at it alone on his road to success and fame? Of course not; his family has played a major role in supporting him and going all out for him. In 2017, his entire family joined him on the road to film a Food Network’s mini-series, Guy’s Family Road Trip. He is a devoted family man and here’s the inside story of the closest members of his family, including his late sister.

Guy Fieri Met His Wife While Running A Restaurant In Long Beach, CA

Guy Ramsay Fieri met his wife, Lori Fieri when he was managing a restaurant in Long Beach, CA. Describing their meeting in an interview with, Fieri said it was love at first sight. Lori had just and graduated from high school, having enough free time, and decided to go on a tour of the country and San Diego was her destination. She never completed that tour. During the tour, she arrived at a restaurant at Long Beach, CA, managed by Guy Fieri. Even though he was initially talking to Lori’s friend, he was soon swept away by the beauty of this blue-eyed, blonde standing behind. He did not wait a moment in initiating a conversation and preparing her an exquisite cuisine.

The duo began dating soon after. It was 1992 and Guy was only 24 while Lori was 22. They had big dreams. Almost three years later, in 1995, the lovebirds tied the nuptial knot and their marriage has been like some sort of adventure since then. Lori has since been a major pillar for the adroit chef and he never misses a chance to adore her for it.

Lori Fieri was born to a middle-class family in North Providence, R.I. on the 30th of November, 1970. Her father was a toolmaker and her mother was a cleaner.

They Have Been Married For Over Two Decades

The couple has remained happily married for over two decades and Guy. Guy credits his wife for being the rock behind their marriage and for taking all his excesses and accommodated his crazy ideas over the years like taking over a cruise ship’s kitchen and flip burgers for hundreds of people.

Lori initially thought he was out of his mind but later cheered him on. Today, the Fieris has nineteen restaurants on the Cruise ship and counting and the couple has one of the strongest celebrity marriages in the U.S. In 1997, the couple bought their family mansion in Santa Rosa, CA.

Guy Fieri Has Two Amazing Sons

The couple is proud parents of two sons – Hunter and Ryder. Hunter Fieri who was born on the 7th day of August 1996 while the second son Ryder Fieri came nine years after; he was born on the 31st day of December 2005.

Guy has always been on the road partially all his career life and has always carried his family along. In 2017, his entire family joined him on the road to film a Food Network’s mini-series, Guy’s Family Road Trip. His children, Hunter and Ryder have been an immense source of faith to him, and being an absolute family man, Guy bought a Vineyard in Sonoma Valley and named its winery, Hunt & Ryde – after his sons.

His Older Son Is Following In His Footsteps

His older son, Hunter seems to have inherited his kitchen creativity. He has always shown interest in the culinary arts like his father but he has never really thought he will end up a chef just like his father but you know you know what they say about an apple never falling away from the tree right?

Growing up, the young Guy thought he’d be a Supercross racer or an athlete but having traveled around the world with his father, exploring different cuisines and culinary stylings and appearing alongside Guy on television, he soon found his love for cooking and has settled for the culinary arts. He is known to be “The Guy of the Future”, but we hope he won’t rest on the laurels of his dad and make a worthy successor of the Guy Fieri brand.

Hunter studied Hotel Administration at William F. Harrah College and specialized in Hospitality Management at the University of Nevada (Las Vegas). He even interned with Caesar group! He currently runs his own pizza truck business which he co-owns with a friend.

Ryder Fieri is currently in 8th-grade and sometimes appears in Guy’s Food Network shows. His dad even had a dish named after him, “Ryder’s Turkey Chili”, and who knows, he may also be joining the family business in the near future.

Guy Fieri’s Only Sister Died Of Cancer

Guy Fieri is not the only child of his parents – Penelope Anne and Lewis James Jim Ferry – he had a sister Morgan Fieri who died of cancer in 2011.

Morgan was born on the 27th of September 1972. She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1989 and attended college at Sacramento State, American River College, and Cal Poly Pomona, where she earned a degree in hospitality in 1994. She was said to have been a gifted Massage therapist and philanthropist who did charity works in some Orphanages in Colima, Mexico with her son Jules. Sadly, she passed in February 2011 after battling with Metastatic Melanoma (a type of skin cancer caused mostly from a lot of exposure to the Ultraviolent UV rays/ radiations) for almost a year.

Her son, Jules was only 11 years old when she died. She and Guy shared a very strong bond. Unlike her brother, Morgan Fieri was a vegetarian, and Guy Fieri credits her for the vegetarian and vegan cuisine recipes on his cookbooks. On Guy Fieri’s left arm is a tattoo of a red-headed woman encircled by the word ‘namaste’ – an Indian greeting which means ‘the god in me sees the god in you’. That tattoo is that of his late sister Morgan.

Guy Fieri Is One Of Food Network’s Wealthiest 

The Emmy award-winning Chef and restaurant owner has indeed made a name and fortune for himself in a field that most conventional men shy away from. His net worth is currently estimated to be at about $25 million. He makes his money through his different restaurants scattered across the United States which he has joint ownership of plus his various cooking shows which air on the Food Network channel and have over time garnered large views globally.

He is also the author of several best-selling cookbooks, from the companion cookbook to his popular show “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” that was published in 2008.
