Born Alfred James Pacino, Al Pacino is an American actor that is best known for playing the role of Michael Corleone in the God Father Trilogy (1972, 1974 and 1990). His other popular roles include Tony Montana in Scarface (1983), Carlito Brigante in Carlito’s Way (1993) and Lowell Bergman in The Insider (1999).

Al Pacino as an actor has had a successful and robust career. He is one of the very few actors that has won ‘The Triple Crown of Acting’, which simply means that he has won the Emmy Awards, Oscar Awards, and the Tony Awards among other notable awards in the industry.

Like most successful actors, many people like to know every tidbit about him, especially how tall Al Pacino is compared to his former co-stars – James and Marlon.

It might come as a surprise to some people that Al Pacino is just about 5 feet 7 inches tall. In fact, some online sources claim that he is shorter than this and that he wears stacked shoes to attain this assumed height. Just maybe filmmakers have presented him as being equal heights with fellow actors who are taller while standing together with them on set.

The speculation of him wearing stacked shoes was fueled by a picture that circulated the media, showing Al Pacino standing with almost head to head with his son.

Meanwhile, James Caan is co-star, who starred as Sonny Corleone and an elder brother to Michael Corleone was also a notable actor of the God Father Trilogy. Just like Al Pacino, perhaps James Caan height has been projected to be more than it actually is. During an interview with an online media, James mentioned that he added about a three-inch lift to his cowboy boots so that he could stand equal to the taller actors. He also mentioned that he was about 6 feet in 1972, but as of 2000, he measured about 5 feet 10 inches. As it stands now, some online tabloids placed his height to be 5 feet 8 inches.

Other notable movie appearances of James Edmund Caan include his roles The Gambler (1974), Rollerball (1975) and A Bridge Too Far (1977), Kiss Me Goodbye (1982), Bulletproof (1996), Blood Ties (2013), The Good Neighbour (2016) the list goes on.

Marlon Brando on his part was cast as Don Vito Corleone in the God Father Trilogy and he featured alongside Al and James. Marlon Brando’s height was reported as 5 feet 10 inches on his driving license, although, his old military enrolment card for tear gas training listed him as 5 feet 9 inches.

However, his official website stated that the Omaha native was 5 feet 8 inches but during an interview he granted Peter Manso before his death in 2004, he gave his actual height as 5 feet 8 (3/4) inches. Hence give or take, his height could be capped off at 5 feet 9 inches. Some of his notable works before his death in July 2004 at the age of 80 include On The Waterfront (1954), A Street Named Desire (1951) and Last Tango in Paris (1972) and many others.

So comparatively, we can safely assume based on the above information available about these three legendary actors, that each of them had an inch height advantage over the next starting with Al, James and of course Marlon.

When compared to James and Marlon, Al Pacino could be seen as of almost similar height. These three actors come off as average in height. Al Pacino stands at a height of 5 feet 7 inches and could be regarded as the shortest of the trio. James Caan follows suit with an inch gap. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall while Marlon Brando Jr could be regarded as the tallest of the three with a height of 5 feet 9 inches.
