Who Is Hunter Biden?
Robert Hunter Biden was born on the 4th of February 1970 in Wilmington, Delaware. His father’s name is Joe Biden while his mother’s name is Neilia (now late). He also had two siblings – Beau and Naomi (both late) and a half-sister named Ashley. Biden spent his formative years in Delaware and obtained his high school diploma at Archmere Academy. He subsequently studied history at Georgetown University and graduated in 1992. Upon graduation, Biden initially pursued his JD at the Georgetown Law Center. He later transferred to Yale Law School and qualified as a lawyer in 1996. Since then, Biden has built a flourishing career as an attorney and lobbyist. He has also worked in both the private and public sectors.
On the public front, Hunter Biden has served in the United States Department of Commerce as well as the National Railroad Passenger Corporation. He was also a Navy reserve from 2013 to 2014. On the private front, Biden is the founder of Eudora Global and co-founder of BHR Partners. Eudora Global is a venture capital firm that specializes in health care, online gambling, and renewable energy. BHR Partners is a private investment fund that aims to invest Chinese capital outside China. Biden’s life has however not been all smooth-sailing as he has a history of substance abuse. This trait cost him his navy commission. It has also proved to be a fodder for the tabloids but the man remains undaunted. He is focused on seeking treatment and has compared his addiction to a terminal disease.
What to Know About His Wife and Children
Biden has been married twice thus far. His first marriage was to a lady named Kathleen Buhle in 1993. The union produced three daughters: Naomi, Finnegan, and Maisy. The couple later separated in late 2015, and Kathleen filed for divorce in 2016. She alleged that her husband lavished money on drugs, alcohol, prostitutes, and strip clubs while neglecting legitimate bills such as taxes. Her ex-husband denied these allegations and the divorce was subsequently finalized in private. Both parties reached mutual agreement on custody, support and property rights.
Following his divorce from Kathleen, Biden commenced a relationship with Hallie, the widow of his late elder brother, Beau. The romance commenced in late 2016 and raised quite a few eyebrows. Biden’s father and stepmother, however, declared their support for the couple and expressed joy that the pair found each other in their time of grief. Biden and Hallie remained together until 2017 when they broke up.
Hunter Biden has found love for a third time with Melissa Cohen. Cohen is a South African/American filmmaker, and the couple first met via mutual friends in May 2019. They quickly fell for each other and tied the knot less than a week after their first meeting. The nuptials took place in Cohen’s apartment, and neither of their family members was present. Cohen has since described her husband as an incredible human being who cares very much about his country, family, friends, and children. Biden has equally described his wife as his redemption and protector.

Hunter Biden has however denied her claims and is set to take a paternity test. The outcome of the matter is still awaited.
His Role in Trump Impeachment Saga
Hunter Biden is one of the central figures in President Trump’s impeachment dilemma. Between 2014 and 2019, Biden served on the board of Burisma Holdings Ltd, the largest natural gas company in Ukraine. The company’s founder, Mykola Zlochevsky, was later investigated for several grave charges but the case stalled after the prosecutor was fired. Fast-forward to 2019, President Trump alleged that the prosecutor had been fired as a result of Joe Biden’s interference. He thus pressured the Ukrainian authorities to investigate the man he considers a threat to him being re-elected or he would withhold aid from the country.
Similarly, Trump also tried to pressure Chinese authorities into investigating The Bidens. He alleged that Hunter’s venture capital firm, BHR Partners, secured a $1.5 billion deal with the Chinese State Bank as a result of his father’s influence. Trump’s actions have resulted in charges of gross abuse of office, and form the bedrock of his impeachment inquiry. The Bidens, on their own part, have maintained that they did nothing illegal in both countries.
