Is Danny Trejo Married After He Divorced Debbie Shreve, His Ex-Wife?

Danny Trejo is a popular actor that was once referred to as the Mexican James Bond. Even though he’s part of an older generation of actors, he is still very well recognizable to the young generation of moviegoers thanks to his appearance in popular films where he has built a reputation of always playing villainous and ultra-male roles.

In addition to his film acting career, Trejo is also a voice actor, providing his voice to a number of movies, computer games, and TV series. He further owns several ventures in the food and restaurant business. In his personal life, however, the famed actor has not enjoyed as much success as he has experienced in his career due to the fact that his marriage of twelve years crashed in 2009. Here is all you need to know about whether or not Danny Trejo married after his divorce, and other related facts.

Who is Danny Trejo?

On the 16th of May 1944 in Echo Park, Los Angeles, California, Danny Trejo was welcomed to the world by his Mexican immigrant parents; Dionisio Trejo and Alice Rivera.

All through the 1960s, Danny was in and out of prison in California. Between 1959 and 1969, he spent time in a juvenile detention camp and six California correctional facilities. While serving in San Quentin prison, he became a champion boxer in the lightweight and welterweight divisions of the prison. Throughout that period, he became a participant of a 12-step program that he attributes with his progress in overcoming drug addiction.

Career

Danny Trejo desired to give back to his community and help out the youth who were stuck in the same situation as he once was. Thus, he worked tirelessly for various rehabilitation and counseling programs.

During his years as a counselor, he was requested by a struggling teenager to assist him in dealing with his cocaine use. Danny Trejo met him on the set of the film Runaway Train in 1985 and was recognized by the screenwriter Edward Bunker. Being an ex-convict himself, Bunker hired Trejo to train Eric Roberts for a boxing scene. The film’s director Andrei Konchalovsky later offered Trejo a small part in the project.

That little opportunity led Danny Trejo to go ahead and star in dozens of films, including Desperado, Heat, From Dusk Till Dawn, Con Air, Once Upon A Time In Mexico, the Spy Kids movies, Grindhouse, Machete, Machete Kills, Dead In Tombstone, and Muppets Most Wanted. His recent television work includes recurring roles on Sons of Anarchy and King of the Hill. He has also appeared on episodes of Modern Family and Breaking Bad among others.

As the story goes, the relationship between Debbie and Danny started right after the pair met in Los Angeles. They dated for a while and by late 1997, after years of a smooth relationship, they tied the knot in an intimate ceremony amidst close friends and family.

Debbie Shreve and then-husband Danny Trejo welcomed two kids, a son named Gilbert and a daughter named Danielle. She also adopted Danny’s two kids from his previous relationship.

Following their divorce, Debbie has kept herself away from the Hollywood spotlight as she now works as a real estate agent in the Los Angeles area. She is currently working with Realtor ReMax Olson & Associates, a Real Estate company based in Los Angeles. She continues to work as a realtor for the agency today and often sells houses that are listed at values of above $1 million.

Before becoming a real estate agent, Debbie Shreve was an actress. She appeared in a handful of films such as Vengeance, Tennis, Anyone…? and High Hopes. Originally from Tarzana, California, she started her acting career in 2005. Her career, however, was not long. In 2006, she appeared as a casting director in the crime comedy movie High Hopes. The same year, Debbie starred with her then-husband in the flick Vengeance. This was the last movie she appeared in.
