Who is Jack Met And How Old is He?

The multifaceted artist was born as Jack Evan Met on the 16th day of August 1997 in the city of New York, United States. Even though he has successfully hidden the details of his parents from the snoopy eyes of the media, the identities of his siblings are all over the internet as they are celebrities in the music industry. He is of white ethnicity and his place of birth is a pointer to his American nationality.

Details of His Childhood and Music Career

Having being raised along with his elder brothers, Adam Met and Ryan Met in Chelsea, Manhattan in the city of New York, Jack Met followed in the footsteps of his brothers by attending the prestigious Professional Children’s School situated in the city of New York which is a special school for children who are inclined toward the arts. Since he was so attached to his brothers who were into music, no doubt Jack Met developed a strong affinity toward music from a tender age. Jack Met then kicked off his musical career by forming an independent pop band named AJR (that stands for Adam, Jack, and Ryan) with his brothers when he was eight years old. They started by performing cover versions of the Beach Boys, Vampire Weekend, Imagine Dragons, Kanye West and many others while entertaining for donations in places like Central Park, and Washington Square Park in 2006. With encouragement from their parents, they turned their living room in Chelsea borough in Manhattan, NYC into a studio where they write, produce and mix their own materials.

In the beginning of their career, Jack Met was playing the harmonica, while Ryan and Adam were playing the piano and bass respectively. Following his brother’s (Ryan) tweet containing the link to the unreleased video of their song titled, ‘I’m Ready’ which he sent to over seventy celebrities including the Australian musician, Sia Furler, her manager’s attention was brought to the song which in conjunction led to the owner and CEO of S-Curve Records, Steve Greenberg serving as their co-manager. That collaboration led to the release of their first single titled, ‘I’m Ready’ on 22nd August 2013.

The single made rounds on Hit 1 Stations and Sirius XM Radio’s Top 20 on 20 before its music video was premiered on 15th October on Vevo. The single was both critically and commercially successful as it went on to rack up many awards including IHeartRadio’s Artist of the Month for Top 40, Clear Channel’s Artist on the Rise, and MySpace ‘One to Watch’ award while it clenched No 1 spot on Next Big Sound’s chart. Its Extended Play which was released on 20th December 2013 became their most famous EP as it clenched No 32 on US Top Heatseekers’ chart. The ‘I’m Ready’ single was Platinum certified by RIAA (Recording Industry Association of America), ARIA (Australian Recording Industry Association), and MC (Music Canada).

Furthermore, Jack Met and his brothers released their second Extended Play titled, ‘Infinity’ on 23rd September 2014 with five tracks on it which include the lead single, ‘Infinity’, before dropping their first studio album, ‘Living Room’ on 3rd March 2015. They released their third Extended Play named, ‘What Everyone’s Thinking’ on 16th September 2016, featuring lead single, ‘Weak’. The lead single, however, was an instant hit as it became Platinum certified in the United States, Belgium, Canada, Netherlands, and Norway as well as Gold certified in Germany, Australia, Sweden, and Italy with over 320 million streams on Spotify.

Following the release of their second studio album titled, ‘The Click’ on 9th June 2017 that featured many hit singles including ‘Sober Up’, ‘Drama’, and ‘Weak’, Jack Met and his brothers moved on to release many Extended Plays, albums and singles which includes smash singles like ‘Burn The House Down’, ‘Pretender’, and ‘Normal’. The pop band additionally released their latest studio album, ‘Neotheater’ on 26th April 2019 with singles like ‘100 Bad Days’, and ‘Birthday Party’. The album peaked No 1 spot on both Billboard’s Top Alternative Albums and Billboard’s Top Rock Albums as well as No 8 on Billboard’s Top 200 Albums. Many artists they have collaborated with include Lil Yachty, Steve Aoki, and Rivers Cuomo.
