Notice we didn’t kick off by reeling out her date of birth right away. Well, that’s because her date of birth has remained unknown and Carter hopes to keep it that way. However, we know that she was born in 1974 and served as a director of Search for Common Ground’s USA Racial Healing Program back in High School.
She attended UC Santa Cruz where she acquired her Bachelor of Arts degree in Politics. She then proceeded to UC Berkeley’s School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctor. She also attended the Bethany Theological Seminary in Indiana and graduated with a Masters degree in Theology back in 2016.
Although she practiced in a few law firms earlier on, she later spent a greater part of her career off law. We’re not sure in what capacity she did, but we know that she spent some years working at Oakland Unified School District. Carter also worked as a journalist before delving into business headlong. As a businesswoman, she founded Kidpacking, a site for moms and dads who want to take their kid’s backpacking, but need some help. Carter is also a producer and director of operations at Magic Labs Media and serves as a board member of the Garden Church, California.

Van Jones is an American producer, news commentator, a non-practicing attorney and author best known for his best-selling book, The Green Collar Economy; which he published in 2008 while serving as former President Barack Obama’s special adviser for green jobs. Van Jones’ Wife, Kids
Their relationship had been on long before their wedding in 2005. The full picture of their first encounter isn’t so clear, but there are speculations that they must’ve met while Carter was serving as a director of the Racial Healing Program back in school. Together they have two boys—Cabral Jones (b. 2005) and Mattai Jones (b. 2009). Theirs had been a silent marriage until things went public on September 7, 2018, after Carter filed for divorce, following a 4-month-long engagement. She also asked for joint legal and physical custody of their two children as well as spousal support.
