Since the 2017 Monday Night Raw episode where Kurt Angle made the revelation that he was related to Jason Jordan, many wrestling fans have been wondering if the pair are truly related or whether it is just another stunt by the entertainment company. More question marks were further raised when Jason went ahead to cite how incredible it has been for him to have the person he admired so much as his father.
Having begun his career in 2011, Jason has stated that Kurt has been one person he has always looked up to as a professional wrestler. His admiration for Kurt was apparently what prompted him to become a wrestler in the first place. Read on to find out whether or not the two wrestlers are biologically related.
Is Jason Jordan Related to Kurt Angle?
The whole storyline about Jason Jordan being related to Kurt Angle actually started on the May 29th episode of Raw in 2017. On that episode, Corey Graves received a text that stated that Kurt Angle was a disgrace and an embarrassment to World Wrestling Entertainment. On the subsequent July 10th episode of Raw, Angle received another message that made him decide to go public with a secret. At the end of the episode, he was videoed talking with someone on the phone who agreed with him in making the revelation together in the next episode.
On the July 17th episode of Raw, Kurt Angle revealed that while he was in college, he got his then-girlfriend pregnant before they decided to end the relationship. He pointed out that he was not aware of the pregnancy at the time as the lady chose to keep it to herself. His then ex-girlfriend went on to give birth to a son without informing him about the child until he found out himself. He moved on to then reveal on the same episode that his long lost son is Jason Jordan whom immediately joined him on stage as they hugged each other.
Jason, on the other hand, disclosed that upon completion of his higher education, he hired a private investigator to research about his real parents after he discovered that he was adopted. Through the investigator, he was able to track his biological mother who then revealed to him that Kurt Angle is his father. Since Jason and Angle made the revelation in 2017, they have appeared to be much closer than they were ever before.
Like every other thing in wrestling, the above incident has since proven to be scripted as Jason Jordan is not related in any way to Kurt Angle in real life. Angle has only one son named, Kody who was born on the 26th of October 2006 by his ex-wife, Karen Smedley whom he married in December 1998. The duo also have a daughter, Kyra, born on the 2nd of December 2002. They divorced in September 2008.
The former WWE Heavyweight Champion then got engaged to actress Giovanna Yannotti in 2010 and exchanged marital vows two years later. Prior to tying the knot with his wife, Kurt Angle had fathered a daughter named Giuliana Marie born on the 22nd of January 2011. The couple welcomed their second daughter, Sophie Laine on the 31st of December 2012, a few months after their wedding. Their third and final child is another daughter named Nikoletta who was born on the 5th of November 2016. In June 2019, it was reported the WWE Hall of Famer and his wife became foster parents to a Bulgarian son called Ivan.
Where is His Real Father?
In addition to being inquisitive to finding out if Jason Jordan is related to Kurt Angle, many are also curious to know who his real father really is. Well, it is known that Jason Jordan was born as Nathan Everhart to his parents whose names are yet unknown, in Tinley Park, Illinois, United States. Jason’s father who is sometimes referred to as Mr. Everhart has been spotted occasionally in Jordan’s wrestling contests where he sits among the fans cheering his son.
One of such instances, when his father was present watching him, was in 2016 when Jason and Chad, known together as the American Alpha, emerged victoriously in the Smackdown Tag Team match. He witnessed the match as he sat on the front row putting on an American Alpha shirt. Jason has also cited his father as his hero and that he wouldn’t be where he is today without him.
