After graduating from Sidwell Friends School in 1995, Jon Bernthal proceeded to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, but dropped out of Skidmore to join Moscow Art Theater in Russia.
As he took in the cold state of the Russian weather and attended his classes at the theatre, the young talent was discovered by an executive director at Harvard, who was in charge of Harvard University’s Institute for Advanced Theater Training.
