Jon Bernthal has enjoyed a career many of his peers would be envious of. Jon Bernthal Was Discovered By A Harvard Executive Director While At Moscow Art Theatre

After graduating from Sidwell Friends School in 1995, Jon Bernthal proceeded to Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, New York, but dropped out of Skidmore to join Moscow Art Theater in Russia.

As he took in the cold state of the Russian weather and attended his classes at the theatre, the young talent was discovered by an executive director at Harvard, who was in charge of Harvard University’s Institute for Advanced Theater Training. Through the director’s help, he returned to America and completed his studies at the American Repertory Theater in Massachusetts.

After graduation, Jon Bernthal returned to New York where he began appearing in theatre productions in 2002. So far in his career, he has starred in over 50 movies and television shows combined.

His first onscreen role came in the same year he went to New York – the actor debuted on the set of the movie Mary/Mary in a starring role as Manny. He went on to star in some of the biggest and best-reviewed films in that period. Netflix renewed the show for the second season on the 18th of January 2019, but it lasted only one month before it was cancelled.

In television, his project selection has also been more than good with credits in shows like How I Met Your Mother, Boston Legal, The Walking Dead, Eastwick, Daredevil, and currently, The Punisher. His distinctive voice has also helped him get a couple of voice roles like in video games – Manhunt and Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare and in the film, Justice League vs Teen Titans where he played Trigon.

In 2017; he joined the cast of the directorial debut of Taylor Sheridan, Wind River and also Edgar Wright’s Baby Driver within the same year. Jon Bernthal’s next high profile project is going to be his role in The Many Saints of Newark. The film which is the prequel feature movie of HBO’s popular series The Sopranos will be released in March 2021.
