Kerri Browitt Caviezel was born in the United Kingdom to two loving parents. She grew up in a stable family alongside her sister, Kristen. Another record she set was to co-captain the WWU Vikings team that finished 30-5 and they became the first 30-win women hoop squad in the history of Western Washington University. In that same season, Kerri Browitt won District 1 and B-District 1 playoff titles reaching the quarterfinals of the NAIA National Tournament.

For the four years she was in college, Kerri Browitt Caviezel played basketball, starting almost all games she ever played in and never missed a contest. That’s very impressive! Most interestingly, she made it to the school’s President’s List nine times.

The two met on a blind date that was arranged by his sister, Amy. The couple got off to a good start and began to grow their love slow and steadily. After three years of dating, the two got married on the 20th of July, 1996 in the presence of family and friends. Jim and Kerri have children although none of them is their biological child. The three children were all adopted from China and interestingly, all three children have been diagnosed with cancer. The names of their children are Bo, who was born on the 12th of December, 1999; Lynn Elizabeth, who was born on the 25th of September, 2001; and David, who was born in 2010.

It is quite interesting that this couple opted to adopt children that have been diagnosed with cancer even though they were offered the option of healthy children. When asked about this tough and unusual decision, the couple explained that they wanted to adopt unhealthy children because the healthy ones could easily find a good home, unlike the sick ones. Since tying the knot, Jim Caviezel and Kerri Browitt Caviezel have not been plagued with rumors of pending divorce or negative press.
