He alongside his older brother, Robert Hart were raised by their mother, Nancy Hart who struggled to take care of them. Kevin studied and graduated from George Washington High School after which he moved on to attend the Community College of Philadelphia for a brief period.

Hart didn’t have it all rosy growing up because his parents “Henry Witherspoon and didn’t have much. His father, Henry Roberts Witherspoon, was a drug addict who was incarcerated when Kevin was still a young boy, leaving his mother, Nancy Hart, to raise him as well as his older brother, Robert, alone. According to Kevin, it was so hard for his mum to take care of them so he had to help her by becoming a shoe salesperson. It was his natural comedic nature that kept him sane and able to go through the hard times to get to success.
Kevin and his only brother, Robert has a close sibling relation, though not much is known about him, Kevin does mention him on some of his jokes at different times.
