Who Is Linda Hogan?

Linda Hogan was born — Linda Marie Claridge — in Los Angeles, California, the U.S on August 24, 1959, to Catholic parents who were of Italian, Swedish, German and English descent. Growing up, Linda spent a major part of her early life in California where she attended Chatsworth High School. Following her high school graduation in 1977, she opened a beauty and manicure salon at Devonshire St. in Chatsworth. The following year, Linda contested and won the Match Game.

When you consider that her older sister, Christie Claridge the actress, was also Miss International 1982, you begin to get the idea that beauty and show biz runs in her family. More so, she has appeared in a few films including Thunder in Paradise (1994), Little Hercules in 3-D (2009), and Ricky Romance: M.I.L.F (2013).

How She Met Hulk Hogan

While in Los Angles Linda met Hulk Hogan (real name, Terry Bollea) in a restaurant. They started a two-year relationship that was mostly long-distance and over-the-telephone. They later got married in 1983 in a lavish wedding ceremony attended by show biz bigwigs such as André the Giant, Vince McMahon, and several other American wrestling personalities. Theirs was a seemingly happy union which lasted for over two decades; producing two children, Brooke (b. 1988) and Nick (b. 1990).

Linda was a supportive figure in her husband’s career. As their union blossomed she began making public appearances that were pro-Hogan. In 1995, she was featured on Hulk Hogan’s album Hulk Rules, in which she sang back-up vocals alongside The Wrestling Boot Band.

Although she’d been active over the years, Linda only came into the spotlight in 2005 when she appeared as Linda Hogan in the VH1 reality TV show, Hogan Knows Best. That year, she was also featured in a segment of a documentary DVD on street racers, titled Vehicular Lunatics. However, their union hit rocks in November 2007, when she filed for divorce from Hulk Hogan.

Why Did Linda Divorce Hulk Hogan?

The widely held opinion was that Linda’s divorce was a result of Hogan’s infidelity. What ensued was a bitter divorce battle that saw the former lovebirds wound up in a money struggle that was settled in 2009 when Hulk Hogan finally signed off on an initial settlement that awarded Linda 70 percent of their liquid assets including properties worth $3m.

Their divorce was finalized on July 28, 2009. Two years after the divorce, Linda Hogan published her first book, a memoir titled Wrestling the Hulk: My Life Against the Ropes.

The relationship also failed; Charlie wanted out and even sued her for $1.5 million. According to sources, the divorce was a result of Linda’s domineering behavior which saw her young lover fertilize 25 acres of avocado trees, dig a creek, watch the yacht, pull reeds from the lake, and work in construction and landscaping.
