Melanie Collins has built a successful broadcasting career working for several stations. She first came into this world on the 6th of February 1986 in Pennsylvania. After her birth, she spent a few years in Pennsylvania before spending a few years at Nashville, Chicago, and San Jose. Collins is a Caucasian as well as an American national. She is the only girl child in her home; having an older brother, Christain and a younger brother, Kurtis. Her parents, Nancy and Doug are divorced but are still residents in the State College Area.
Collins bagged a degree in communications from Penn State University. Her interest in sports was practically influenced by her family, she comes from a sporty home. She, alongside her brothers, is quite skilled with the game of hockey. Also, her family has a Christmas tradition of playing a game of pickup. Her mom and stepdad reportedly donated the sum of $1 million towards the new Pegula Ice Arena.
Melanie Collins first started her career as a bartender while she was still in college. It was during one of her many shifts that a coworker informed her about trying an on-air job, while also pointing to the fact that AccuWeather was recruiting as at that point.
